The GLBT community in Minneapolis gets together for celebrations, festivals
and conferences of all kinds. Here are some of the city's annual events:
DIVA
March
An evening of fashion, music, dancing and more benefits Minneapolis-area AIDS
organizations.
Hollywood Event
March
The official Oscar party for the Minneapolis area benefits the Minnesota AIDS
Project with a night of entertainment, food and the Academy Awards on a big screen.
Rainbow Families Annual Conference
April
The largest event of its kind with workshops for adults, programs for children,
a resource fair and family celebration.
Minnesota AIDS
Walk
May
Minnesota’s largest AIDS-related fundraising event held at Minnehaha
Park.
Twin Cities
Pride Celebration
June
A series of events over nearly 2 weeks comprise one of the largest
Pride festivals in the nation.
Flaming Film
Festival
June/July
Filmmakers come from around the country to Minneapolis to premiere independent

Experience the thrill of live competition with roping and riding from the North

A 4-day bicycle trip through southern Minnesota to benefit 9 Minnesota-based
AIDS service organizations.
Minnesota Fringe Festival

This 10-day performance event including theater, dance, storytelling, puppetry
and more is the largest Fringe in the U.S.
Glamorama
September
A high-energy fashion show benefiting the Children’s Cancer Research Fund
begins at the State Theatre and ends with a post-party at the downtown Minneapolis
Marshall Field’s (Macy's) store.
Minnesota AIDS Trek
September
A ride covering 175 miles in just 2 days donates all funds raised to AIDS organizations.
National Coming Out
Day Luncheon
October
Celebrates the diversity of the GLBT community in the Minneapolis area with an
afternoon of speakers and lunch.
Big Hair Mania
November
Annual gala that combines hair, fashion, food, entertainment and fun to benefit
the Minnesota AIDS project.
